Local maple producers fear tariffs could throw a wrench into a centuries-old business relationship with Canada.
The Parker Family Maple Farm has been tapping nearly 100,000 maple trees in West Chazy since 1889. Owner Michael Parker says all of the supplies that they use, the tubing in the woods, the pumps, the evaporator, come from Quebec that may now face tariffs. Which, Parker says, could mean that customers on this side of the border could soon have to pay more for the maple they love on their pancakes.
