The non-profit Make-A-Wish counts on donations during the holidays. Its yearly Adopt-A-Wish campaign helps grant wishes for kids in the North Country, and around the state, with a critical illness. The Adopt-A-Wish booth will be set up at Champlain Centre Mall in Plattsburgh through December 31st selling paper star ornaments to raise money for kids’ wishes. Make-A-Wish hopes once the pandemic restrictions ease, they’ll be able to once again grant wishes and trips. With less holiday shoppers likely at the malls this Christmas, Make-A-Wish is also encouraging people to donate online. They’re also hopeful they can sign up as many as a half-dozen volunteers in the North Country to help grant wishes. To donate, volunteer, or nominate a child for a wish, you can go to the Make-A-Wish Northeast New York website at www.wish.org/neny
