Haendel’s Messiah (HWV 56) is an English-language oratorio composed in 1741 by George Frideric Handel.
The Messiah was initially composed by Handel for small vocal and instrumental ensembles with many of the individual numbers having optional arrangements. After his passing, the composition was expanded upon and performed with enormous orchestras and choirs.
Next December 4th at 2pm at La Maison Symphonique de Montréal, l’ Ensemble Caprice, Festival Classica, and Ensemble vocal Arts-Québec are delighted to return to la Maison symphonique to present Handel’s Messiah after their successful tour of the province last year.
Enjoy the beloved holiday classic this season with a choir and orchestra made up of 38 top-notch musicians, led by conductor Matthias Maute.
