Live concerts, web-diffusions and CD launches, Montreal has music at it’s heart.

This week , with the current gradual deconfinement of the city , Montreal has seen an explosion of various concerts, live events and shows scattered around town.

Here below, Gen’s Delights offers a short recap of some of the current musical and artistic happenings:

Fresh from his recent concert ( Invitation to Dance) with the Metropolitain Orchestra this past weekend, February 27th at Montreal’s Maison Symphonique, young conductor Nicolas Ellis Camus ( Seen below with Ukrainian pianist Serhiy Salov), is preparing for yet another grandiose concert , this time with Orchestre de l’Agora in partnership with  L’Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal at Montreal’s Monument National :

This March 1st and 2nd, the Orchestre de l’Agora, under the baton of chef Ellis, will be presenting a unique concert, showcasing the fascinating French Baroque repertoire, which has been rarely presented here in Quebec.

Enfers des Lumières will present different arias by Lully, Rameau and Gluck, from operas inspired by Greek mythology. These sublime excerpts from the Baroque repertoire, which will be highlighted by Stage Director François Racine, will reveal scenes taking place in hell, around the themes of love, despair and revenge.

Last February 23rd , members of the media and special guests were invited within the charming premises of Sérénité Sonore studios to participate in a very unusual CD launch event:

Attendees could live an immersive musical and physical relaxation experience while listening to harpist Caroline Lizotte’s latest album “LIZOTTE JOUE LIZOTTE” in a state of weightlessness, comfortably suspended in one of Sérénité Sonore’s Suspended Loft hammocks!

As the artist explains:

LIZOTTE joue LIZOTTE ” is my life path, influenced by music that passes through my head. Just as permanent as the lines traced in my palms, composition is a stable part of my existence. Music always inhabited me since childhood and I swore to always nourish the flame that burns within me…a bit like guarding a sacred fire.”

” In this first album, the harp is in the spotlight, strong like an entire orchestra. You will embark on a journey of my stories and personal visions of unique characters.

Together we will travel into my galaxy.”
