Lasting Impressions: A unique immersive art experience in 3D !

After PARIS, CANNES, MIAMI, ORLANDO and SEOUL…

THE NEXT GENERATION OF IMMERSIVE EVENTS HAS ARRIVED IN MONTREAL, PRESENTED BY THE PRODUCERS WHO INTRODUCED IMAGINE VAN GOGH TO NORTH AMERICA:

.

From January 5th to March 12th , the newly renovated and inaugurated ESPACE St-DENIS is ready to welcome visitors to a beautiful, new immersive 3D experience: Lasting Impressions that urges Montrealers to rediscover the emotional impact of art.

.

Impressionism was a 19th-century art movement founded by a group of Paris-based artists who rose to fame in the 1870s and 1880s as a result of their independent exhibits.

Their art is characterized by relatively thin, visible brushstrokes, open composition, a focus on accurate representation of light in its varying qualities (often emphasizing the effects of time passing), commonplace subjects, unusual viewing angles, and the inclusion of movement as a crucial component of human perception and experience.

The great Impressionist masterworks on display have all undergone a mesmerizing makeover as they are brought to life via the use of advanced 3D Motion Sculpting technology by Canada’s Northern Gateway Films .

The result is quite astonishing, as audience members are invited to don 3D glasses to access the movement and ‘step‘ through the canvas in order to completely inhabit the worlds created by the French impressionist artists such as Degas, Renoir, Manet, Monet, Van Gogh and several other contemporaries..

You will be drawn into the beauty of Starry Night with “Vincent” , a song by Don McLean written as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh

.

The audio accompanying the presentation is expertly orchestrated with a vast array of thematic French songs by Piaf, Aznavour, and Mouskouri, as well as beloved and very recognizable classics by Debussy, Ravel and other composers, that are precisely timed with the art that surrounds the audience.

A special collage of works is dedicated to the brilliant, but tragic life of Vincent van Gogh accompanied by the Song ‘Vincent‘ by Don McLean as seen above.
