Kids Dig Into Ancestry with Genetics & Genealogy in “Finding Your Roots: The Seedlings”

Watch the whole series
Tuesday, August 31 from 1 – 3pm

“Finding Your Roots: The Seedlings” follows 13 young people using science and research skills at a genetics and genealogy camp to answer the question “Who am I?” With an innovative curriculum conceived by Henry Louis Gates Jr., host of the hit PBS series “Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr” and developed by a team led by Penn State professor Nina Jablonski, campers explore their own family history and DNA ancestry with techniques never before used in an educational setting.

The success of this series was made possible by the enthusiasm and creativity of the young people who took part in the very first Finding Your Roots Genetics and Genealogy camps as they explored, asked questions, discussed, and discovered their near and distant ancestry.
