Join Us on Protect My Public Media Day

Threats to federal funding of public media are on the rise putting public media stations, their local programming and essential resources at risk. That’s why we at Mountain Lake PBS ask you to join us on Thursday, March 6 for Protect My Public Media Day, a national day for communities to come together and support public media.

What is the Protect My Public Media Pledge?

The Protect My Public Media Pledge means that you commit to speaking up for public media. Protect My Media Pledge Day is a national day of action to celebrate and defend public media. This one-day virtual event will unite public media supporters, stations, and organizations to:

  • Highlight the critical role of local stations in delivering life-saving information, vital local journalism, proven educational resources for children and families, and experiences that bring us together.
  • Ignite a national conversation about the value of public media.
  • Share personal stories about how public media has shaped lives and take action to ensure its future.

Why Take the Pledge

While a portion of our funding comes from generous community donations, membership and grants, Mountain Lake PBS receives a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that makes up a major part of our funding as well. This funding helps Mountain Lake PBS provide educational outreach to children, local documentaries and storytelling, and essential journalism to the Adirondacks, Champlain Valley, Montreal and everywhere in-between. By signing the pledge, you show that you are willing to stand up for Mountain Lake PBS when it matters most.

Show your support on March 6!
