Be inspired by water and share your stories with Champlain Basin Education Initiative!
In honor of World Water Day, the Lake Champlain Basin Program and Champlain Basin Education Initiative are partnering up to host their annual student contest and celebration. Students in grades K-12 within the Lake Champlain watershed can submit original water-related art, photography, videography and writing by Wednesday, March 8th for some great prizes!
Submission categories include:
- Celebrate Water
- Spread the Word
- Citizens Science and Civic Action
- Act Locally Think Globally
The World Water Day Celebration will be held in Plattsburgh at the Champlain Centre Mall on March 18th.

Lake Champlain Basin Program
The Lake Champlain Basin Program coordinates and funds efforts that benefit the Lake Champlain Basin’s water quality, fisheries, wetlands, wildlife, recreation, and cultural resources, in partnership with government agencies, private organizations, local communities, and individuals. Champlain Basin Education Initiative
The Champlain Basin Education Initiative (CBEI) is a consortium of environmental education groups in the Basin. CBEI conducts trainings and workshops on teaching about the Lake Champlain Basin for K-12 educators.
