A newly discovered infestation of an invasive water chestnut has been discovered in Dead Creek, not far from Plattsburgh City Beach and Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain Basin Program and NYSDEC are working on a plan to tackle the infestation next summer, hoping it will keep the invasive plant from reaching City Beach and Lake Champlain.
