IN YOUR FACE Art Exhibit | Artists Set on Changing the World!

You don’t always have to travel far to see art that is making a global impact.

“Artists as Innovators” celebrates cutting edge creative work by artists who share two traits in common: They have all worked in the state of New York, and, in their early career, they all received an artist fellowship from a New York State Council on the Arts/New York Foundation For the Arts program.

The exhibition is travelling to schools in the State University of New York system.

It features works by artists including Martha Rosler, Elia Alba, and Wendell Castle.

You may see the exhibit “Artists as Innovators: Celebrating Three Decades of NYSCA/NYFA Fellowships” from now until August 9 at the Plattsburgh State Art Museum, in the second-floor galleries of the John Myers Fine Arts Building. The galleries are open daily from 12pm – 4pm.

Paul Larson produced and edited this Spotlight piece. It features videography by Michael C. Hansen and Will Houle.

Spotlight is made possible, in part, by the Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation, dedicated to improving the quality of life for year-round residents of the Adirondack Park. pearsallfoundation.org
