Hungry ? A Creole Market will take place at Montreal’s Grand Quay this September 3rd and 4th as part of Martinique Gourmande!

This September 3rd and 4th , the Martinique Gourmande Food and Solidarity Festival, an initiative of the Comité Martiniquais du tourisme au Canada is going to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a large Creole Market under the theme “De l’assiette au voyage” (From your plate to your travels ), at Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay, during Labor Day Weekend.

Prisca Morjon is a self-taught chef and proud Martinican obsessed with the ingredients found on her island. During the Martinique Gourmande Festival, Chef Prisca will be hosting a 4-handed dinner on September 7th at the Bar Mamie, details here.

For this occasion, five guest chefs from Martinique will be honoured. With their creative cuisine they will tease visitors’ appetites with a little taste of sunshine!

Meet Martinique on September 3 and 4, from noon to 9 p.m., discover the best of Martinique on the Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal. Admission is free! The market is the place to be for food and fun over the long weekend.

During the two days of festivities, Martinican specialties prepared by GUEST CHEFS FROM THE ISLAND will be available to enjoy on-site or to go.

Also available on site this year will be a bevy of fun family activities including a domino tournament, a tropical bouquet competition a photo area, music, a carnival group, zouk animation, and traditional Creole dance demonstrations.

15 booths for 15 years of celebrations !

Fifteen exhibitors will be on-site with Martinican products and information about Martinique, including useful tips on how to book your next vacation, what activities to try , and which accomodations to stay at.

A dozen mixologists will go head-to-head in a friendly competition to determine the official cocktail of the 2022 Festival.

In addition, from September 2nd to the 10th, more than a dozen Quebec establishments from both Montreal and Quebec city will be offering tasty dishes from Martinique on their menus.

With this year’s theme “A journey through Martinican cuisine and culture,” The Martinique Gourmande Festival will be a not-to-be missed event that is sure to bring you a dynamic edition packed with colour, flavour, and community spirit.
