The state is providing 2-million dollars to help build a new hotel in downtown Tupper Lake. Betsy Lowe and Nancy Howard want to put the 40-room “Crossroads” boutique hotel on the corner of Mill and Park streets in the heart of the village.
The hotel is one of more than 70 projects in the North Country that will share more than 60-million dollars in grants given out during the latest round of Regional Economic Development Council awards announced last week. Lowe and Howard still need permits before they can move forward. They hope to begin construction sometime in 2018.
