HÄNDEL’S MESSIAH RETURNS TONIGHT: A HOLIDAY TRADITION AT SAINT JOSEPH’S ORATORY

Montreal, December 11, 2025 : This evening, the Orchestre classique de Montréal (OCM) invites audiences to embrace the spirit of the season with a luminous performance of Händel’s Messiah, presented under the direction of the orchestra’s new Music Director, Maestro Andrei Feher.

A cherished holiday tradition for Montrealers, Messiah will be performed in the beautifully restored and enchanting crypt of Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal at 7:30 p.m.

The newly completed renovations to parking and access areas ensure a smooth and welcoming arrival for all guests on this festive winter night.

OCM’s musicians will be joined by an exceptional quartet of soloists:

Jacqueline Woodley, soprano

Camila Montefusco, mezzo-soprano

Adam Luther, tenor

Jamal Al Titi, baritone

They will be accompanied by two distinguished Montreal choirs, Les Filles de l’île and Les Chantres Musiciens, bringing the iconic choral moments of Messiah to life with warmth and grandeur.

ABOUT THE OCM

Winner of a 2024 Juno Award, the Orchestre classique de Montréal (formerly the McGill Chamber Orchestra) was founded in 1939 by violinist, conductor, and composer Alexander Brott and his wife Lotte Brott. The OCM soon became one of Canada’s most prominent chamber orchestras, touring five continents, producing numerous recordings, and making regular appearances on radio and television.

From 2000 until his passing in April 2022, the orchestra was led by the renowned Boris Brott, O.C., O.Q. Today, the OCM remains a vibrant, innovative, and versatile ensemble composed of Montreal’s finest professional musicians. Now in residence at Salle Pierre-Mercure, the orchestra continues its mission of celebrating diversity and inclusivity.
