Governor Andrew Cuomo laid out his legislative agenda for the new year during his State of the State Address to lawmakers in Albany this week. Cuomo’s most high-profile proposals include another try at legalizing adult use of marijuana, a $3-billion environmental bond act to combat climate change, also, paid sick leave, free college tuition for more students, and tax cuts for small businesses and the middle class, even though the State is facing a 6-billion dollar budget deficit. The Governor also included the dozens of proposals he rolled out in the past month, a push to lower prescription drug prices, a crack down on vaping, banning single-use Styrofoam products, and expanding cell service to every corner of the state including the Adirondacks.
