U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand came to the North Country this week to announce her push for federal funding to rebuild rural America. Gillibrand says her legislation could help provide funding for projects like healthcare services, opioid addiction treatment, replacing water and sewer lines, expanding cellular or broadband coverage, or ever helping the Clinton Community College Institute for Advanced Manufacturing expand and help train additional workers. The Rebuild Rural America Act would create a $50-billion dollar grant program specifically for rural regions.
