Waging a battle to live can certainly give you a new perspective and outlook on life. Mike Mitchell is living proof. Mike, a former corrections officer from Altona, New York, volunteers at events for the North Country Regional Blood Bank where he personally thanks donors for giving blood. It was donors that attend blood drives and donate at the CVPH Blood Center that saved Mike’s life when he was battling Leukemia two years ago and needed massive amounts of blood. The blood bank at CVPH supplies 5 other hospitals in the region from Massena to Glens Falls. That makes weekly blood drives like the one hosted this past week by Taylor Rental and Twinstate Technologies so critical. The owners of Twinstate have held blood drives for several years in memory of their mother who also needed blood during her battle with cancer.
