Garrow Premieres in Plattsburgh

The indie film based on the story of serial killer Robert Francis Garrow premiered in Plattsburgh before a crowd of nearly 900 who packed the Strand Center Theatre for two screenings. The film by Director Lori Bailey will have additional showings in the coming weeks in Watertown, Glens Falls & Syracuse. Bailey’s movie, that she filmed last year in Essex County, focuses on Garrow’s murder trail in 1974 in Hamilton County, and then his escape from the Fishkill Prison downstate 4 years later. At the Plattsburgh screening we talked with Dominic Arena, the correction officer who was shot and wounded by Garrow outside the Fishkill Prison in 1978. Arena plays himself in Bailey’s film and talks about how surreal it was to be in the movie. We also talk with Aengus Andrew, the 14-year old actor from Chazy, NY who plays a young Robert Garrow in the movie.
