From Art, Fashion to Fundraising, Montrealers are shining both locally and internationally!
We currently live in somewhat turbulent times…slowly learning to adapt to a new way of life following a global pandemic, facing terrible news of war and suffering from across the ocean and dealing with our own personal insecurities and daily pet peeves…
Luckily here in Montreal, we have amazing community members who strive to bring a touch of beauty , a sense of purpose, much needed aid relief and hope to others …
Gen’s Delights is happy to present to you the contributions of visual artist RIO, Creative director Yves Ulysses and community and financial aid guru Melanie Rousseau.
Bringing a bit of beauty into our lives…
Meet Rio: This statuesque visual artist has a style that is distinctly unique!
Working tirelessly from his residence-studio in St-Sulpice, Lanaudière, this Quebecois painter and visual storyteller creates larger-than-life detailed works of art that always manage to amaze and dynamically capture the imaginations of viewers here in Montreal and now abroad!
His story is one of incredible success achieved through dilligence and hard work.
Rio`s style is very modern, stylish and fashion-oriented, with themes that depict gorgeous, blinded – faced powerful women ( a tribute to those who impacted his childhood), exotic animals, and whimsical backgrounds with allegoricals elements.
His art stands out with the enhancement of precious stones, crystals, diamond dust, newspaper and encyclopedia prints, gold leaf and other eye catching ornaments.
One can easily get lost in time admiring his work and creativity!
After enjoying a successful recent launch in Miami, that allowed Rio to take his work out of its usual framed setting by parading a glass covered , cube-shaped vehicle throughout the Design District, it will be next May 20th that the artist will take his work overseas to Cologne, Germany, before tackling New York and returning to Montreal, in September to be featured at the Ritz-Carlton !

Dress for success with HPadar and M3 Mode masculine.
For M3 men`s fashion event creator Yves Ulysse,Sapologie is the window to the future...“
Using the power of fashion to up-lift the soul :
For those who wish to have a fully immersive and educative fashion experience , next May 12th – High end Montreal tailor and designer HPadar in collaboration with M3/Mode Masculine Montreal, will showcase a new line entitled « the Sape movement « a brilliant collection, boasting a mixture of vivid colours that will certainly elevate your style this spring and summer!
Inspired by the European dandies of the 19th century, this African clothing and cultural movement (originating from Kinshasa Congo), emerged in the 1960`s and encourages the daily use of colorful, haute couture that promotes an elegant, happy and success-filled lifestyle.
In an interview that I conducted with Mr Ulysse on the power of fashion, he mentioned:
`‘I feel the true power of fashion lies is that it gives the individual an extra boost of confidence when they walk into a room knowing that they look sharp and feel at ease with who they are.`
“H. Padar is one of the finest tailor shops in Montreal, ( open since 1974 and centrally located downtown ). Since my first conversation with HPadar, he showed a great interest in M3 mode masculine`s mission to encourage men to be bold in manners of dress, feel good and empowered about themselves and take a stand.
I love that his design style is audacious, chic, well-defined and elegant.
(on a side note – I definitely find men in Montréal to be more audacious – fashion wise, in comparison to women ).
After two years caught in the whirlwind of the Covid crisis , it is a wonderful feeling to return in the public eye , to cast negativity asides and to dress daily with confidence , armed with a success driven mindset.
The Sape mouvement collection is set to launch May 12th 2022.
Fighting for Ukraine: the role foreign volunteers can play in wartime….
Meet Melanie Rousseau , CEO & Founder at Money Mama , a company that helps and take a stand for other women to organize their finances!
Melanie is an amazing entrepreneur, mommy & fashion lover who loves to support women with financial issues. However she believes that financial stability comes when one has the pleasure to enjoy stable living conditions and certain basic needs are met .
With her Ukrainian Investor & Realtor friend, Todor (who also loves to support women in acquiring real estate), they are leaving this weekend to Bulgaria with the UkrainianHumanitarianEmergencyRelief (UHER), to help Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria.
In Melanie’s own words:
“I look at my two kids tonight and all I want to do is hug them tight.
I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had to run with them with nothing but the clothes on our back seeking safety in a foreign country.
Tonight, I made the decision to join Todor, Natalia and Ulyana on a humanitarian mission.
Tonight, I decided that the best way to protect my two kids is not to turn off the news, but to feel the pain and support mothers and kids, just like me, with everything possible – medicine, food, clothes, a hug… to take a stand and do.
We are leaving on Saturday. We are packing suitcases and collecting money donations.
This war has displaced 6 million mothers and kids. Many already have no one and nowhere to go back to. Feel this for a second.
We will directly bring donations and buy necessary supplies and medicine for those who need it most. From our hands to their hands. Not a single dollar will be wasted.
I invite you to follow our journey, share our posts and Give Generously.
Tonight, I think of all the mothers and what they do BEST – Nurture and the fathers who Protect. Let us be that to those who need us tonight and tomorrow.
Gen’s Delights feels that it is important to highlight that generousity of local community members like Melanie who tirelessly help bring more awareness and support to raise funds to help the Ukrainian refugees . In this case helping to provide long term rental vs only putting refugees in hotels for short term durations.
Ultimately, as seen above, it is keeping a sense of hope, seeing the beauty in life and promoting kindness that makes the world a better place to live in.
