Food Justice in the North Country

There is a collaboration among farm and community groups in the Eastern Adirondacks to get fresh, locally grown food onto more tables in rural communities. AdkAction has opened a second farm store in Port Henry, New York. The original “Farmacy’ store is located inside the Keeseville Pharmacy in Keeseville, New York. The second farm store, called the “Mountain Weavers Farm Store” is located inside the Mountain Weavers Guild Store on Main Street in Port Henry, offering fresh produce and other local food products from farms and vendors in the area. It is part of a larger movement in Essex County, New York that aims to help improve access to fresh, locally grown food. The Food Justice Working Group is also working to help local farmers.
