First-Ever Semaine Dynastie: A Cultural Extravaganza Celebrating Black Excellence

From April 20th to 27th, the inaugural Fondation Dynastie’s Semaine Dynastie will illuminate Montreal with a week-long celebration, uniting artists, creators, professionals, entrepreneurs, and cultural actors from Black communities.

This groundbreaking initiative, spearheaded by Carla Beauvais, esteemed recipient of the médaille de l’Assemblée nationale du Québec, promises an eclectic blend of networking, discussion, professional development, and artistic performances, culminating in the highly anticipated Gala Dynastie.

Themed “Build your Dynasty,” Semaine Dynastie aims to foster dialogue, share experiences, and inspire collective growth among attendees. It offers a platform for cultural and media luminaries to engage with the public, sharing visions, realities, and aspirations, while addressing challenges and issues.

Kicking off with the vibrant Brunch Dynastie on April 20th, guests will engage in crucial discussions on the sustainability of federal funding for Black communities, led by Louis-Edgar Jean-François, CEO of Groupe 3737.

They’ll savor a culinary journey curated by esteemed Africa- and Caribbean-influenced chefs, amidst a lively musical ambiance tailored for networking.

Collaborating with Vegestation, Semaine Dynastie ensures a sustainable event, with unconsumed food donated to Centre d’hébergement La Traverse.

Throughout the week, Semaine Dynastie will host a series of dynamic events, including Convos Culture on April 22nd, led by host Sabine Daniel, focusing on building lasting cultural legacies.

Convos Media, on April 23rd, hosted by Barbara Laurenstin, will explore media storytelling’s power in revealing authentic community narratives.

On April 24th, Dynastie Unplugged offers an intimate showcase of Gala Dynastie nominees and emerging talents, featuring captivating performances, stand-up comedy, and live podcasts by artists such as Webster, Mopao Mumu, and CSHMR.

DJ sets and cocktails promise a festive atmosphere for connection and discovery.

Industry Day on April 25th targets aspiring Black professionals and artists, offering a platform to explore career opportunities, receive guidance, and enhance resumes, with representatives from various institutions and organizations on hand to provide insights and support.

The week will culminate on the 27th with GALA DYNASTIE – CULTURE EVENING – Held at Place des Arts, Theatre Maisonneuve.

Where hundreds of attendees will celebrate and highlight the exceptional achievements of personalities from all Black communities in Quebec who are renowned in the fields of arts and culture.

The Soirée Culture will be hosted by Garihanna Jean-Louis and the Black Carpet will be hosted by Gaël Comtois and presented by Bell.
