FILMS BYKIDS | Return Date: Unknown | Watch & Wonder Weekly Highlight

Friday, December 8, 1 PM

For next week’s Watch & Wonder Highlight, we’re featuring one of the latest episodes of FILMS BYKIDS. After watching, dive deeper with resources about the young storytellers in this series that encourage understanding and engagement about globally relevant issues on PBS LearningMedia.

In Return Date: Unknown, 17-year-old Tymur Tsapliienko dreams of becoming a pilot. But life is on hold because Tymur is a refugee who fled Ukraine when the Russian army invaded his country. As he travels through Germany to see his father, a war journalist, Tymur interviews fellow refugees, examining the devastation of war and displacement, and the ways in which people find solidarity and hope during times of crisis.
