Federal support requested for infrastructure repairs on former Air Force Base

There is a call for the federal government to step in to help the Town of Plattsburgh deal with the aging infrastructure on the former Air Force Base. Roads & underground water & sewer pipes were severely damaged by heavy rains in June. Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Michael Cashman says repairs could cost up to 12-million-dollars. He’s asking for federal funding through the Infrastructure Act and National Defense bills to help communities, like Plattsburgh, pay to fix-up former Air Force Bases across the country. Cashman says the town has spent about 6-million-dollars on infrastructure upgrades so far.
