F1 Frenzy has come to town!

Get ready to rev your engines because this week, from music, delicious food, to glamorous fashion, the flurry of off-circuit festivities celebrating Montreal’s Grand Prix has officially begun! 


Maison Boulud’s Ruinart Terrace & Dom Perignon bar at the Ritz

The Ritz-Carlton is a symbol of luxury and treasured history in the city of Montreal.

Yesterday, a joyous 5 to 7 was held , complete with a marching band by the group @lightsanddrums, to officially launch the opening of the Maison Boulud’s Ruinart Terrace a well as unveil the newly designed Dom Perignon bar at the Ritz-Carlton, which you can now enjoy all summer long . 

In front of the Ritz, a spectacular Mercedes AMG Petronas race car replica provided the perfect photo opportunity for race car lovers and fashionistas to pose with.

This car will also be one of the highlights on display amid the sublime decor of the Ritz-Carlton’s lounges at their up-coming glamorous F1 party to be held this Friday June 7th.

At the event , guests will be treated to a Moët & Chandon champagne bar, feast on tantalizing dishes created by Executive Chef Johnny Porte, enjoy late-night dessert stalls, and dance to music by Montreal’s very own  DJ YO-C.

DRESS TO KILL at Bar George:

Tonight, for their third consecutive year, the magazine Dress to Kill officially kicks off the F1 nightlife scene by throwing an extravagant party at Bar George under the theme Neo-Renaissance!

The fashion and society centered magazine, has a cult following in the city as it provides a voice for the artistic community and strongly advocates freedom of expression for all art forms.  

Kathia Cambron, the founder of Dress to Kill, strongly believes that F1 season is important for Montreal as it promotes the city worldwide, promotes the local economy and encourages people to glam-up, go out and socialize!

For the 2019 edition, Cary Tauben, a Dress to Kill Editor for 10 years, fashion designer and fashion icon of international renown, will host the Dress to KILL evening at Bar George. He is represented by The-Project.

With a long list of expected A-list celebrities on the guest list and official sponsors being none other than Aston Martin and Johnnie Walker. Dress to Kill is the ‘not to be missed‘ opening party to kickoff the F1 2019 season.

Take it to the Streets with Formula Peel!   –    June 5th to the 9th

Patrice Brisebois, former player of the Montreal Canadians and a big racing fan, will once again be the spokesperson of this event, running from June 5th to 9th, where nearly half a million people from around the world are expected to attend the festivities presented by the Impact Media team, in collaboration with Destination Downtown Montreal and the Peel Street Restaurant and Trades Association.

Custom refurbished terraces: where true gastronomic experiences awaits those who will come to try the over a dozen renowned restaurants on Peel Street that will offer sumptuous and varied menus in a festive atmosphere.

Participants include:  At Alexandre, Soubois, Ferreira, Vasco da Gama, Houston Bar & Grill Avenue, Pizzeria No 900, Universal, Carlos & Pepe’s, RYU, Entrecote St-Jean and Ibérica.

As the largest and most prestigious terrace of the Grand Prix of Canada, this year’s edition will be presented by PIPER-HEIDSIECK Champagne in collaboration with the Casino de Montréal. Attendees can dance to the beats of renowned DJs from the local and international scene between 11 am and 3 am from June 5th to June 9th, 2019.

Pop-up Fashion Show: 

Geneviève Borne will play the dual role of animator and DJ as she hosts this glamourous and fashionable event that will allow you experience the behind the scenes moments of preparing a fashion show. See firsthand how model prepare and dress for the catwalk and watch and snap pictures of their walks on the Peel Paddock terrace that will be transformed into a scenographic  runway taken from the Formula 1 universe.

Tequila experience!  7-8-9 June

Among the new features of the Canadian GP this year, there are three thematic gourmet terraces, one of them which will put Tequila at the forefront for those seeking a VIP experience at an affordable cost on the festival site of the circuit.  

Race attendees can upgrade their bracelets to have access to the exclusive Mexican-themed paying terrace along the bassin, that will offer a sunny, festive VIP lounge area & a gourmet station to be able to enjoy the F1 races comfortably  from 8am to 7.30pm daily.

The races will be broadcast live up on giant screens. Mexican DJ, Master Gajo, will keep the atmosphere festive by spinning from 10h to 20h.

Guests will be entitled to one free Tequila drink per day and can further enjoy access to this exclusive bar with a variety of 10 privately imported tequilas for purchase.

To complete the VIP experience, Mexican specialties such as a ceviche Vallarta and tacos proposed by chef Alejandro Ramirez (Toque!) will be served.

Ludovic La Villette’s amazing French bistro and bar has moved from Griffintown to open shop at 143 rue Saint-Paul Ouest.

During Grand Prix weekend, the staff are happy to welcome you in “soft opening mode” to try their delicious cuisine and hope that you will come to enjoy their official opening that will be held in mid-June.
