We talk with the Director of the State’s Office for the Aging about New York’s new Master Plan for Aging that’s being crafted over the next couple of years to come up with a comprehensive plan to help us better care for older adults, to help them live healthier, longer, most fulfilling lives, and in many cases, to be able to do that right in their own home, with the love and care of their families. We discuss what’s covered in the State Plan, as well as a new federal plan introduced by New York’s United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. We also look at some of the new programs that are helping combat loneliness & isolation, especially after the COVID pandemic, by providing seniors with AI robotic pets and devices to help provide comfort and companionship.
