Art of the Organ

IN COLLABORATION WITH THE 2019 GRAND ORGAN FESTIVAL

This Sunday October 6th at 3pm, the Orchestre Classique de Montréal , Maestro Boris Brott and Musical Director Roï Azoulay invites you to come down to the Maison Symphonique of Place des Arts to see and hear the Grand Orgue Pierre-Béique resonating to declare the official start of the orchestra’s 80th anniversary season in grand manner !

Acclaimed organists Jean-Willy Kunz and Alcée Chriss will enrich this evening of grand sound & grand repertoire.

On the program will be classic organ works being presented alongside exquisite music of the Jewish High Holiday services, performed by Cantor Gideon Zelermyer and the choir of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim, led by conductor and Musical Director Roï Azoulay who has specially created new arrangements of some of these choral pieces (sung a cappella in the synagogue) with organ for this occasion !

The Art of the Organ takes place on Sunday, October 6 at 3:00 pm, with tickets starting at just $10.

Music of Hungary

Artistic Director and Lyric Tenor Sebastian Haboczki invites you this Saturday October 5th to come and enjoy the inaugural concert of the Kin Musical Adventure Series : Music of Hungary !

Featuring brilliant musicians Paul Digout (piano), István Lakatos (violin) and Melissa McCann (soprano), who have previously performed for notable guests such as Barack Obama and Elizabeth Taylor, you will get to enjoy the music and celebrate the brilliant arrangements of Zoltán Kodály, Franz Liszt and many others.

Artistic Director Sebastian Haboczki, alumnus of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, brings a retrospective of Hungarian composers to a contemporary audience for a concert that promises to delight Hungarians and non-Hungarians alike. He also hopes that this inaugural KIN Musical Adventure Series will continue to inspire and educate audience members about music from around the world.

Proceeds from this concert will benefit Montreal’s youth and non-profit communities.
