Love and Treachery in Palm Beach Book Reading and Signing
August 17 @ 1:00 pmFree
On Saturday, August 17thst at 1:00 p.m., Author Bernard Moran, a summer resident of Saranac Village at Will Rogers, will hold a book signing of his latest collection of short stories, Love and Treachery in Palm Beach 3, at Will Rogers. Bernard will also speak about ways to get a book published.
From his first visit to Palm Beach in 1953, with his father for spring break, Bernard has been enamored with this lush, tropical destination. Memories for Bernard include sun, sand and surf, delicious food, polo, Hollywood stars, tennis, a Kennedy and a feeling of “heaven on earth.” His memories of the glitz and glamor of Palm Beach reveal the true natures of residents of this island paradise in his books that delve into cheating husbands, vindictive wives, bankers, brokers, realtors, lawyers, schemers and scammers.
A resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida since 1973, Moran is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. In Hartford he worked as a copywriter and newsman for radio and television stations and later moved to New York City where he continued this work. He began writing articles for Gold Coast Magazine on topics such as antiques, hypnotism, disco dancing, croquet, plastic surgery and facelifts, heraldry, children’s ballroom dance classes and more. He later became Editor of the magazine, and in the 1990’s became the menswear editor for Millionaire Magazine. Bernard has written over fifty articles for lifestyle publications such as Gold Coast, The Palm Beacher, Boca Life, Stuart, Jupiter, Vero Life, Tallahassee, Women’s Sports, Millionaire and Billionaire magazines. His topics have ranged from antiques to women’s soccer.
This program is free and open to the public and books will be sold for $15 each. For more information, please contact Debbie Kanze at (518) 891-7117 or visit www.saranacvillage.com.
