Green Living Fair
April 20 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pmFree
Why: – To learn what you can do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change by connecting you with energy contractors, local farmers and other resources.
The Green Living Fair provides your home or business with tools, programs, contractors and more to reduce your monthly bills. Huge savings are possible with a limited investment of time and money. Together we can cut down on greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the changing climate! Our vendors will show you how.
Our communities will benefit by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and must adapt to climate change already obvious, and the changes on the way. Let’s make a purse out of a sow’s ear and look for ways to support a more vibrant local economy offering job growth. The fair will showcase what Canton and Potsdam Municipal governments, educational institutions and local businesses are already doing to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change.
The Green Living Fair is providing educational opportunities at all levels. Students from schools and universities are preparing posters and displays for the Fair. Visitors to the Fair will receive a map and checklist of actions with links to exhibitors and displays showing how they can save money by saving energy, wasting less, accessing renewable energy and buying local.
The Green Living Fair is a project of the Canton and Potsdam Climate Smart Communities. Municipal governments in both communities have passed resolutions supporting the Fair and encouraging residents to participate. Cornell Cooperative Extension, SUNY Canton, Clarkson University, Local Living Venture, North Country 350 Alliance, Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton, and the US Green Building Council of Upstate NY have officially partnered with Canton and Potsdam to organize the Green Living Fair.
