BERKSHIRE FARM CENTER TO HOLD FREE INFO SESSION ABOUT
HOW TO BECOME A FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE PARENT
PLATTSBURGH, New York—Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth, one of New York State’s leading nonprofit child welfare agencies, announced today that they will hold a free informational session, Thursday March 23rd, 2017, for anyone interested in learning more about becoming a foster or adoptive parent.
The info session will take place at 133 Margaret St. 2nd floor, “The Old Court House” at 6pm in Plattsburgh. This is a free event where guests will hear from Berkshire CEO, Jim Dennis and VP of Foster Care, Alicia Young. Current foster parents and families will be there to talk about their experiences along with information on how you can learn to foster on your own schedule, part-time or full-time. There will be door prizes and raffles and pizza and salad for guests to enjoy. Child care will also be available at the event if needed.
“Simply put, there are not enough foster homes in Clinton County to care for the number of children entering foster care. Berkshire, in partnership with Clinton County DSS, is looking for people in the community who are willing to open their hearts and their homes. There is no obligation by attending our information session, merely come and meet some of our foster families, ask questions, and learn more about how you can help.” – Jim Dennis, CEO and President of Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth.
Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth is one of New York State’s leading nonprofit child welfare agencies, serving over 8,500 children and their family members across New York State each year. The mission of Berkshire Farm Center is “to strengthen children and families so they can live safely, independently, and productively within their home communities.”
