This Friday , May 5th 2023, two musical powerhouses, Dawn Tyler Watson and Matt Herskowitz, will be taking the stage at the Amphitheatre du Gesù in Montreal for a one-of-a-kind benefit concert.
Titled “20 seconds”, this show is an amalgamation of blues, jazz and classical music that promises to be a thrilling experience for all music lovers !

Dawn Tyler Watson, a multi-award-winning singer-songwriter, is known for her soulful and moving performances that have earned her national and global recognition among the blues elite. After winning the coveted Grand Prize at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2017, she has brought her expressive voice to four continents in performances that touch both the body and the heart.
With a sound steeped in jazz, soul, rock and gospel, Watson knows how to push the boundaries of traditional blues and to take it to a whole new dimension.

On the other hand, Matt Herskowitz is a versatile artist, a solo piano master, jazzman and classical virtuoso who brings his unique voice to every musical style he performs. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, Matt Herskowitz is originally from New York State and has lived in Montreal since 1999.
The virtuoso pianist has performed at concerts and festivals around the world, including often at Carnegie Hall, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and many European festivals. Matt also records and performs with renowned Canadian violinist Lara St. John in a duet that tours the world.

The show’s title, “20 seconds”, refers to the amount of time it takes for oxytocin to circulate in the body during an embrace, the hormone of love and regulation of fear.
Matt Herskowitz will perform solo and in duet with Dawn, inspired by film music on the theme of love and its challenges.
All profits from the event will be donated to The Women’s Center of Montreal, a non-profit organization created by women, for women, to provide professional, educational, counseling and referral services.
