“Divinely, dangerously decadent.”—New York Times
In here, “Life is beautiful.” Directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Spectre), Cabaret features a brilliant story and score colliding at the macabre intersection of tragedy and humor. In 1931 Berlin, under the threat of Nazism, American cabaret singer Sally Bowles meets British university student Brian Roberts. When decadent playboy Maximilian von Heune enters the picture, a love triangle ensues against the collapse of the Weimer Republic, ultimately telling the tale of following your heart while the world loses its way. Celebrating its 50th anniversary season, the award-winning Roundabout Theatre Company invites audiences to leave their troubles outside. After all, “Life is a cabaret, old chum.”
