Get ready to wander through the flickering gloom of darkness toward a bright beacon of hope, as ideas of light and shadow move young filmmakers to create short works. Mountain Lake Journal will present many of the winning films in the Beyond the Peaks Student Film Festival for 2024, a year forever marked in the North Country as the year when the total solar eclipse amazed the many people who witnessed it.
You’ll have the chance to see the winning entries from students ages 14 – 18, all residents of New York state and the province of Quebec.
Student Festival Films: Spotlight Beyond the Peaks premieres Friday, June 28 at 8 pm. It repeats Saturday the 29th at 7 pm and Monday, July 1st at 5:30 pm. You may also view the program at mountainlake.org, beginning June 28.
