Plattsburgh Arts Coalition

The Plattsburgh Art Coalition‘s mission is to support the arts in Plattsburgh, New York for everyone. Promoting the idea of community over competition and fostering collaborations within the arts community, the Coalition addresses needs in three core areas: equal access to funding, support for artists, and community development.

The City of Plattsburgh

Founded by Zephaniah Platt in 1785, the City of Plattsburgh is located on Lake Champlain in the northeast part of New York State about 20 miles south of the Canadian Border. The site of numerous historical events, including the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Valcour Island and the War of 1812’s Battle of Plattsburgh, it is also home to over a dozen public parks with athletic fields, playgrounds and community gardens, as well as a sprawling beach on the shore of Lake Champlain.
