Enjoy an evening of eclectic music styles with OCM’s next concert: Kaléidoscope

This April 11th at Salle Pierre-Mercure, come and enjoy an evening of musical discoveries on the occasion of the Orchestre Classique de Montreal’s next concert that will feature the works of Anishinaabe composer Barbara Assiginaak and the talents of Quebec soprano Sharon Azrieli, OCM’s concertmaster Marc Djokic, led by conductors Nurhan Arman and Adam Johnson.

The eclectic mix of musical styles in this concert is sure to create a vibrant sensory experience for all in attendance.

Anishinaabe composer Barbara Assiginaak’s

The evening features the world premiere of Anishinaabe composer Barbara Assiginaak’s Gwekaanmat (Wind Changes Direction), a work for orchestra and pipigwan (Anishinaabe flute) as well as the Quebec premiere of Robert Rival’s violin concerto All’ombra de’ cipressi (Under the Shadow of the Cypresses) featuring OCM’s dedicated concertmaster Marc Djokic.

This first half of the concert will be conducted by Nurhan Arman, Music Director of Sinfonia Toronto. 


In the second half of the concert, conducted by Adam Johnson, Canadian soprano Sharon Azrieli will delight with her expressive performance of beloved songs by the renowned Michel Legrand.
