Eclipse Tourism in the North Country

Tens of thousands of visitors came to the Adirondacks & North Country to watch the spectacular Solar Eclipse. And it turns out, they spent millions of dollars, while they were here.
Some preliminary numbers out this week show the economic impact of the eclipse last week. According to New York’s Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism or ROOST, an estimated $2.7 million was spent in Essex County for overnight tourism for the eclipse. That’s at least 500-thousand more compared to last year.
