There’s a new documentary that’s premiering here in Plattsburgh next week. It’s the story of how Jimmy McCartney, who grew up in Plattsburgh and worked at Mountain Lake PBS, turned his attention full-time to pursuing his dream of hosting a comedy show on television. After years of doing open mic nights and standup, Jimmy got a break early last year when his persistence and large following on TikTok paid off. Several colleges and military bases booked him for shows that turned into a months-long tour. Jimmy recorded the entire tour, all of those performances along with behind-the-scenes footage that he’s now put together to create the documentary. The documentary film will premiere next week, December 20, 2023 at 7pm at the Cumberland 12 Cinemas. Tickets are $15.
