In the 1960s, die cast model cars were a craze that caught on with boys of all ages. Our Derek Muirden has the story of a local enthusiast with one of the most extensive collections of die casts to be found in the North Country. His name is Dick Sopher and he is the Director of Exhibits for the popular Champlain Valley Transportation Museum in Plattsburgh. Dick’s die cast collection and the other exhibits at the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum have closed for the season, but will reopen in the spring on April 15th.
