New York State’s Commissioner of Education and other state education leaders were here in the North Country a couple of weeks ago to help Champlain Valley Educational Services celebrate 75 years of serving the North County. The BOCES serves 16 school districts in Clinton, Essex, Warren & Washington Counties, providing hands on career training and technical education for high school students.
Superintendent Mark Davey says CVES hopes to continue to expand services for students, including a new technology center to help kids develop the vocational skills they need before they graduate. Dr. Betty Rosa, NYS Education Commissioner, spent the day meeting with CVES students, staff, local school superintendents, and state lawmakers. She and other leaders said BOCES is helping to prepare students for the jobs & careers of tomorrow, including jobs that just a few years ago no one had imagined.
