Coming This Fall

Word this week the long-awaited world-premiere screening of Ben Stiller’s “Escape at Dannemora” mini-series that was filmed here in Plattsburgh and the North Country will happen in October. According to a report in Variety, the screening will be on October 15th during the first day of Mipcom, an event that showcases international TV shows. Director and Executive Producer Ben Stiller is expected to attend the event that is being held in Cannes, France. The miniseries, shot over several months last year here in the North Country, is based on the prison break at Dannemora 3 summers ago that led to the massive 3-week manhunt for convicted murderers Richard Matt and David Sweat. The mini-series also delves into the relationships between the killers and Joyce Mitchell, the now infamous seamstress in the prison tailor shop, who helped them carry out their escape. Showtime has said the 8-part series will air this fall, but so far hasn’t announced the dates.
