Closing the Broadband Gap

Governor Andrew Cuomo visited Plattsburgh this week to announce the third round of funding to close the broadband gap and expand access to high speed internet to 100% of New York State in 2018. The North Country will receive more than $100-million to cover getting service to what Cuomo calls “the last mile” — homes and business in the most remote regions of Northern New York. The funds will be used to entice providers to bid to connect hard to reach areas.
