Cheers to a Stellar Edition of the 29th Mondial de la Bière: A Triumph of Taste, Culture, and Celebration!

Montreal was filled with an intoxicating energy as the 29th edition of the Mondial de la Bière took center stage at the iconic Gare Windsor from May 18 to 21, 2023.

This remarkable festival once again showcased its undeniable prowess in bringing together beer enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and curious minds from far and wide.

.

The Mondial de la Bière offered a sensational experience that was accessible to all with free admission. This inclusive approach undoubtedly contributed to the festival’s success, as attendees were treated to an unparalleled celebration of all things “beer”

.

The numbers alone paint a picture of grandeur: a staggering 400 products were on offer, representing the creative genius of 98 breweries, distilleries, cider houses, food concessions, and other esteemed partners. It was a truly international affair, with 34 breweries from around the globe, including Belgium, Estonia, the United States, Canada, and the Czech Republic, bringing their unique flavors to the table.

.

However the Mondial de la Bière was not just about the beer. The festival’s organizers made sure to tantalize the taste buds with a delectable array of culinary delights.

From oven baked pizza from Shawbridge brewery to piping hot pretzels from Cunningham, Nine food concessions catered to the diverse palates of attendees, ensuring that no craving went unsatisfied.

The Randolph Animation “Fun Terrace” area was always busy !

.

Furthermore, the festival pulsated with lively music, expertly curated DJ sets, and captivating shows that entertained and engaged visitors throughout their journey. Adding an extra dash of entertainment, the “Fun Terrace,” presented by Randolph Animation, created an atmosphere of joy and excitement, providing yet another reason to raise a glass and revel in the moment.

As if the festivities within the Gare Windsor were not enough, the Mondial de la Bière extended its reach beyond the confines of the main venue. The “OFF MONDIAL” evenings, hosted in various artisanal breweries, brewpubs, and beer bars across Montreal from May 15 to 22, 2023, showcasing the city’s vibrant beer scene and allowing enthusiasts to explore a multitude of venues while savoring their favorite brews.

.

A highlight of the festival was the commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Exclusive tastings were offered solely in Mondial de la Bière glasses, representing editions from 1994 to 2023.

Visitors had the opportunity to purchase a glass on-site, ranging from $10 to $20, with clearly marked 2 or 4 oz servings to promote responsible drinking. Impressively, 2% of the revenue generated from glass sales were donated to La Fondation Rivières, a foundation dedicated to protecting our precious waterways.

Some brewers took it upon themselves to raise funds for organizations they support like the Brasseurs de Montebello featured below who sold Teddy bears and gave a portion of their beer sales to charity:

“The Mondial de la Bière not only provides an exceptional experience for beer enthusiasts but also showcases the beauty of Montreal’s vibrant culture and its global connections. “We are thrilled with the overwhelming success of this year’s edition and the opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause through our sustainable practices.” says Jeannine Marois, co-founder

.

The Mondial de la Bière has yet again solidified its position as a premier event in the beer world, and we eagerly await the next edition to indulge in the magic it promises to deliver.
