The Champlain Valley Business and Professional Women’s Club held a candidates’ forum this past week. Candidates for Clinton County Sheriff, City of Plattsburgh Common Council and the 21st Congressional District appeared at MHAB Life Skills campus in Plattsburgh.
Incumbent Sheriff David Favro, a Democrat, spoke to the audience and took questions, as did his opponent, Chelsea Warick, a former sheriff’s department deputy who is running as a write-in candidate with the backing of the Clinton County Republican Party.
Julie Baughn, a Democrat, is running unopposed for the open Common Council seat in Ward 1.
In the Ward 4 race, incumbent Jennifer Tallon, a Democrat, is facing a challenge from Hillary Trombley who is running on an independent party line. Trombley has endorsements from both the Clinton County Democrats and Clinton County Republican Party.
Matt Castelli is the Democrat running in NY21 looking to unseat incumbent Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
