Cashman and Davison to Debate on Mountain Lake PBS | Submit Your Questions

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that a special election to fill the vacancy in the 115th District of the New York State Assembly, prompted by the resignation of Billy Jones, will be held on Tuesday, November 4.

Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Michael Cashman is the nominee for North Country Democrats, while recently retired New York State Police major and Troop B Commander Brent Davison troop has been chosen as the Republican nominee.

Davison and Cashman are going head-to-head for a seat Republicans hope to win back from the Democratic majority in Albany for the first time in a decade.

The 115th district that includes all of Clinton and Franklin Counties, and 5 towns in Essex County, has a slight edge of registered Democratic voters, but only a few thousand more than the number of registered Republicans and Independents.
