Captain Garrow Bridge Dedication in Peru

The Carpenter Flats bridge on Route 9 in the Town of Peru was renamed this past week in honor of New York State Police Captain Christopher Garrow. Garrow’s family and friends were joined by members of the State Police for the dedication ceremony to honor Captain Garrow for his years of service as a U.S. Marine, and New York State Trooper. Captain Garrow died in 2023, from an illness related to his work in search and recovery at the World Trade Center after the September 11th attacks in New York City.
New York State Department of Transportation crews put up signs at both ends of the bridge on Route 9, and Garrow’s family, his wife Jillian and daughters Maggie and Ella joined in the ceremony unveiling the signs and officially renaming the bridge the Capt. Christopher J. Garrow Memorial Bridge.
