Bach

This Friday the 25th of February , Clavecin en concert is pleased to present a concert starring Luc Beauséjour on the harpsichord, and the Agora orchestra under the direction of maestro Nicolas Ellis .

The Italian masters of the 17th century ( Corelli, Vivaldi and Bach) perfected the modern string orchestra. Together they brought out the beauty and complexity of musical textures ; dually in the form of ” the sinfonia“, operatic overtures, and the concerto grosso (Corelli), and Vivaldi with his unique and outstanding solo concertos.

Johann Sebastian Bach (31 March [O.S. 21 March] 1685 – 28 July 1750) was a German composer and musician of the late Baroque period who became the first great German heir to this new form of composition and complex score writing.
