Bill McColgan Named President and CEO of Mountain Lake PBS

Plattsburgh, NY – 03/07/2017 – Mountain Lake PBS, now entering it’s 40th year, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill McColgan as the new President & CEO as of March 1, 2017.

Mr. McColgan comes to Mountain Lake PBS with more than twenty-five years in media leadership, television production, programming and partnership development, and financial management. Most recently, Bill McColgan served as the Director of Content and Finance at Mountain Lake PBS.

“I’ve come to know Bill well during his time at the station in the last two years. I, along with the board of directors, am confident in his leadership and vision. His experience in the industry will be invaluable to Mountain Lake PBS as broadcasting and media evolves at an accelerating rate,” said James Liszka, President of the Mountain Lake PBS Board of Directors.

Mountain Lake PBS serves nearly 4 million people throughout New York, Vermont, Quebec and Eastern Ontario with high quality commercial-free programs, and goes beyond the broadcast with digital storytelling online, and outreach and education in the community.

We are deeply committed to serving the community and aim to facilitate dialogue and the exchange of ideas and information on television, online, and in our communities.”

Prior to his time with Mountain Lake PBS, Mr. McColgan served as the Executive Director of a nonprofit community media center, Access Framingham, in Framingham, Massachusetts, successfully leading the rebranding of the organization, developing new local programming and services, designing and constructing a new studio facility, and increasing membership and revenues. Prior to his work at Access Framingham, McColgan worked as Executive Producer and Director of Programming Development for The Comcast Network serving the Eastern Seaboard, and as Director of News and Public Affairs for AT&T Broadband.
