Documentary
In the documentary category you are to create a documentary on a topic of your choosing. Your film must be under 5 minutes, and you must have credible interviews and b-roll. For preproduction you must include interview questions and a storyboard. A script is optional. You must also include a film poster, film trailer, synopsis and list all cast and crew.
Public Service Announcement
In the PSA category you are creating a public service announcement that has a run time of less than 90 seconds convincing your audience to take action. For pre-production you must include a script and storyboard. You must also include a film poster, film trailer, synopsis and list all cast and crew.
Drama
In the drama category you are creating a dramatic film that has a run time of less than 5 minutes. For pre-production you must include a script and storyboard. You must also include a film poster, film trailer, synopsis and list all cast and crew.
Comedy
In the comedy category you are creating a comedic film that has a run time of less than 5 minutes. For pre-production you must include a script and storyboard. You must also include a film poster, film trailer, synopsis and list all cast and crew.

FAQ
When is the festival?
The 2022-23 festival is closed. The festival will relaunch in September 2023 and run through the 2023-2024 school year.
Submissions will be due in April 2024, and a Red Carpet Showcase event will take place in June 2024.
Who can participate?
High School students, grades 9-12, located in NY, VT and QC are eligible to enter.
How do I submit my film?
The film festival uses a platform called Launchpad. Students and teachers can register, view filmmaking tutorials, and submit films at: https://beyondthepeaks.skills21.org/
