This year, poems will be published and hung in storefront windows in Saranac Lake and published digitally on the Adirondack Center for Writing website.
How To Share Your Poetry
To be a part of PoemVillage, you must be a poet with ties to the North Country. The deadline to submit your poem to the program is April 1, 2023. Each person can submit one poem using the PoemVillage entry form.
Rules for Entry:
You must live at least part time in the North Country
Your poem must not be longer than 25 lines or 300 words (whichever comes first)
Since 2016, ACW has invited writers of all ages, experience levels, and locations within the North Country to send poems to be published and installed in windows in Saranac Lake during National Poetry Month. In 2022, ACW hung nearly 300 poems in 60 windows of local businesses and organizations. Check out a special Mountain Lake PBS Spotlight story “Your neighbors are poets. Maybe you are too!” to learn more.
Adirondack Center for Writing
The Adirondack Center for Writing brings people and words together. The ACW cultivates the art of writing and the joy of reading; celebrate the power of language to invite discovery, to create an understanding of people and sense of place, and to build a community. Check out what’s new and newsworthy at ACW and be sure to visit their Saranac Lake location for drop-in reading, writing, and community time.
Great local stories, previews of everything new, and invitations and updates on Mountain Lake PBS activities!
