Atlantic Salmon Experiment on Lake Champlain

New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation is trying to boost the Atlantic Salmon population in Lake Champlain and Saranac River using a first-of-its-kind experiment to raise more than 25-thousand young salmon in the lake, in the hopes that the 4-weeks the fish spend there will leave a lasting impression on them and that someday, in a few years, they’re return to the same spot to spawn.
