City of Plattsburgh officials say the community was honored to host the family members, who traveled from their homes in Arizona and Texas to attend several events, including the parade and the Michael Anderson mural dedication.

This year’s parade theme, “Interstellar,” was inspired by the mural with the goal of bringing more awareness to and celebrating the fact that Lt. Col. Anderson was a NASA astronaut from the Columbia Shuttle expedition in 2003 and a Plattsburgh native.
