Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie begins his summer tour of the state in the North Country. He toured Bombardier while in Plattsburgh and talked about the importance of state and city leaders working out a long-range capital plan for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority that will include billions-of-dollars in upgrades, and could include hundreds, if not thousands of new rail and subway cars that Bombardier will hope to bid to build. The Speaker also talked about the legislative session that just wrapped up in Albany, and the passage of several major pieces of legislation. He also talks about the one major piece of legislation that did note make it to the floors of the Assembly or Senate for a vote, the legalizing of recreational marijuana use by adults.
